Born to the high priest and priestess of a temple dedicated to the plane of air, Larus spent most of his childhood fleeing from the responsibilities thrown at him from this close-knit community.

Sent to retrieve an artifact said to be able to aid the temple in its rituals, Larus would end up fumbling the job by accidentally gambling it away. Convinced he'd been conned, he pursued the thief, walking directly into an illicit transaction between Elvish nobility and the leader of a nefarious thieves' guild.

With both parties making threats on his life, Larus found himself abruptly recruited into the guild as a means of compromise, as the person he'd been chasing revealed herself as the leader's daughter.

Larus believes that at the end of the day, mankind inherently trends towards selfishness and greed. There's no use denying that, so we might as well embrace it.

He's here for a good time, not a long time. Larus believes that we only have one brief life to live, so we should enjoy it while we can. Ultimately, he doesn't want to waste his life bending over backwards to appeal to the whims of others. He doesn't want people meddling in his affairs, so he'd prefer to do the same for everyone else.
